This spacious bar overlooks the tree-lined Jozenji-dori Avenue. Hatago was founded by Aoya Tsukasa as not just a bar, but a place for people to discover sake. With sake explanations available in English, travelers from abroad are encouraged to come and try different types of sake. Aoya-san has sourced around 60 varieties of sake by personally traveling to breweries across Japan. Hatago also serves food designed to pair well with these sakes. Accommodations for dietary restrictions, allergies, and food preferences (no raw fish, etc.) can be made.
In addition to regular food and drink service, Hatago also hosts English-friendly sake-tasting workshops through the Sendai Tourist Information Desk.
