First held in 1997, the Michinoku YOSAKOI Festival has been a standard fixture on Sendai’s event calendar for over twenty years!

During the festival, more than 100 teams consisting of over 5,000 dancers from across Japan and the Tohoku region will gather in Sendai once again to bring you their passion and energy for dancing through their performances. Visit the streets filled with the ringing of narukos and enjoy the visual spectacle backed by a fusion of rock and traditional melodies. There is no entrance fee. However, you may purchase tickets to be seated in the Citizen's Square area for a full viewing experience.
