  • Michinoku Park a vast public park that offers a little something for everyone. The colorful, psychedelic landscaping of the central flower garden is a crowd-pleasing must-see. Adults will also enjoy strolling the park's peaceful woods and wildflower meadows, while children will squeal with excitement at the extravagant playground equipped with a ball pool, bouncy "clouds" and more. Enjoy a picnic lunch together on the spacious lawn or stop in one of the on-site eateries.

There are fun educational attractions here too. The Furusato-mura is a "village" recreated from authentic historical houses gathered from all six prefectures of Tohoku. Visitors can learn about how regular people lived in the olden days through a variety of hands-on experiences.

The park hosts a wide range of events throughout the year, from rock festivals to kagura (an ancient form of theater).  Event information can be found in English on the park's website.
