Mahoroba no Yu is a popular day-trip hot spring facility in Togatta Onsen. Shakuhachi (Japanese bamboo flute) music floats throughout the space, lending it a deeply relaxing, indisputably Japanese atmosphere. The high quality hot spring water piped in directly from the source soothes the nerves and quickly warms the body to the core. The main attraction are the open-air baths (gender separated), each hewn from a single large boulder. Private open-air baths (also hewn from boulders) are also available, ideal for those reluctant to bathe nude in front of others. Other amenities include granite-tiled indoor baths, a sauna, an after-bath relaxation space, and an on-site restaurant.
Mahoroba no Yu is operated by the same folks who run Hoshi Akari no Yado (星灯りの宿) the inn across the street. In addition to regular guest rooms, the inn also features rooms that come with their own, private boulder-hewn open-air baths.
