Kodanohama Beach is a beautiful beach located on Kesennuma’s Oshima Island. It is ranked one of the ten best swimming beaches in Japan. While not large, the pristine white sand and calm waters are sure to wash away the weariness of the everyday.
The beach is open for swimming from mid-July to mid-August with lifeguards on duty between 9:00 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily. There are showers, toilets and food stalls available. Oshima Paddle Club offers stand-up paddleboard (SUP) lessons here in summer.
