For over 130 years, Kirin has been a top beer brand in Japan. The brand is named after the kirin, a mythical beast which is said to appear before auspicious occasions. Visitors can enjoy an eighty-minute tour of the Kirin Beer Sendai Brewery, which includes a tasting session of up to three beverages (non-alcoholic beverages also available). Tours are conducted in Japanese, with English pamphlets available. The factory also features a gift shop and restaurant.
