  • The Shotaro Ishinomori Memorial Museum celebrates the life and work of famous manga artist Shotaro Ishinomori, who was born here in Tome, Miyagi. The museum’s permanent collection is a playful ode to Ishinomori’s most famous works, displaying memorabilia from Cyborg 009 and Kamen Rider. A reproduction of Ishinomori’s apartment is also on display, giving visitors an intimate look at his life. The special exhibition room hosts Ishinomori’s original sketches but it is also used as a venue for temporary exhibitions. Not to be confused with the larger manga museum in Ishinomaki, this museum is an homage to a hometown hero.
