This welcoming coffee and dessert cafe, which first opened its doors in 1877, is a popular local hangout on the main street in Naruko. Owner Miyamoto Takeshi trained as a French pastry chef in Tokyo and has reinvigorated this traditional dessert shop by crafting French as well Japanese confections. The menu includes chou cream puffs, Grand Marnier chocolate truffles, eclairs, apple tarts, and the shop's signature warabi mochi, a chewy traditional Japanese confection.
A lifelong Beatles fan, Miyamoto-san may even treat you to an acoustic rendition of a classic tune on guitar as you munch.
